Lima gave the Americas their first canonized saint, Rose of Lima, and beside her the city venerates Martin de Porres, John Macias, and the shepherd-bishop Turibius of Mogrovejo. What makes Lima a pilgrimage rather than a museum is how close these saints remain: the Dominican basilica that holds three of them together, the cathedral on the founding square, and the house where Rose lived are all within a short walk, and the Lord of Miracles, the devotion African Catholics gave to the whole city, is carried through the same streets each October. This hub carries the shape of that sacred geography; the destination and saint pages carry the churches, the relics, and the saints on their own terms.

How the ground lies
Almost everything a pilgrim visits in Lima sits within the historic center, the colonial core laid out around the Plaza Mayor. The cathedral and Santo Domingo stand a few blocks apart near the square; the sanctuary of Santa Rosa and Las Nazarenas lie a short walk away along Avenida Tacna. The whole pilgrimage can be walked by day.

Practical, not booking
The cathedral, Santo Domingo, and Las Nazarenas keep daily Mass; the sanctuary of Santa Rosa is a place of quiet devotion at the well and hermitage. Devotion intensifies enormously around the feast of Rose of Lima in late August and the Lord of Miracles in October. Confirm current Mass times and feast-day arrangements on the official sources.
Modest dress is appropriate in all the churches, and sightseeing pauses during Mass. Come outside service times or join the liturgy rather than tour through it.
The historic center is largely level and walkable. The cathedral and Santo Domingo are a few blocks apart near the Plaza Mayor; the sanctuary of Santa Rosa and Las Nazarenas are a short walk along Avenida Tacna. The cathedral crypt is reached by stairs.
