How the shrine and town fit together
A Carolingian foundation, the Marian pilgrimage that expanded in 1489 and the life of St. Conrad meet within a few streets. The town is still ordered by Catholic worship and pilgrim prayer.

From Kapellplatz to the Capuchin church
The small Gnadenkapelle holds the venerated image of Our Lady. The collegiate church borders the square, the St. Anne basilica receives larger gatherings and the church of St. Conrad holds the saint’s tomb. These are distinct buildings and prayer stops within the town.
